This was a common winter scene in recent Marble history. The rink was used for Marble Charter School PE classes, and by the public. We had lights, hockey goals, and it was a lot of fun.
Unfortunately, the volunteers who maintained the rink for our town couldn't keep up with the
set up, flooding, and tear down process, so we now clear patches of Beaver Lake for our skating enjoyment - just like in the early days of Marble!
Besides skating, popular winter activities in Marble that take advantage of our snowy climate are cross country skiing, extreme backcountry skiing (expert only,) hiking and snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Perhaps in the near future we will resurrect our wonderful skating rink!
Winter in Marble is spectacular and peaceful, and our roads and lodges are open!
